Getting train to Old Trafford for first time on Sat

Does anyone know how long it takes after a game to get back to Manc Piccadilly.

Done it once before for the Seville friendly so cant really compare and dont wanna get tickets for a train that i will never get. Match should be over for bout 7ish.

Also any tips for using tram as the one time i did use it, it was CRAAAAZY

Hi, i dont know where your travelling from but what i normally do is get a train to Deansgate then get the matchday train to OT. If you do that i would get to deansgate a good 2 hours ahead of the match to make sure you can get a train because many matchday trains can get full especially the last one and can be rather hazardous. Go down to tram station Salford Quays, you'll get the first one that comes along. I always do.

USUALLY back at Piccadilly by one hour after full time. This takes up the 10 minute walk, and the 5 minute wait. For 3pm KO's, I am usually back at Piccadilly for about 20 to the next hour.

These are direct to Piccadilly as well. From Old Trafford Station it goes to Bury.

I usually get the train to Deansgate or Oxford Road, have a drink in The City Inn or Atlas and then walk to The Trafford (or get a taxi from outside Sainsbury's if I'm feeling lazy ).

I usually get one of the buses outside OT to Deansgate station. I'm usually quite drunk so my timescales may be off but once on the bus I think it only takes about 10-15mins.

Do you need to travel to and from Picadilly?

Cheers for that. Dont wanna get train ticket that means gotta hang round Piccadilly for too long. Knew there was other station in vicinity but usually go by car and park down Trafford Park way

Why not get the special train that goes directly to Old Trafford train station?

A return is the same price as a single by the way so it's worth buying the return ticket even if you don't use it.
