Manchester United and Portsmouth are both tracking Serbia star Milos Krasic.

The 24-year-old is currently with Russian giants CSKA Moscow - but he is attracting major interest from around Europe after a string of highly impressive performances.

The right-winger moved to Russia in 2004 after they snapped him up from Vojvodina - where he was already captain.

He has since become an integral part of the CSKA set-up and one of the most highly-rated forwards in the Russian league.

United are well versed with the Russian scene having signed, coincidentally, Krasic's international team-mate Nemanja Vidic from Spartak Moscow.

Now Krasic is catching the attention, and both United and Pompey are understood to have watched him in midweek.

The scouts were dispatched to Vienna to catch Serbia's World Cup qualifier against Austria and they will have surely been impressed as Krasic turned in a memorable display as he scored the opener in a 3-1 win.

Paris Saint Germain, Hamburg, Werder Bremen and Porto are already hot on Krasic's trail and CSKA are understood to be looking for close to £8million for the player who still has three years left on his contract in the Russian capital.

CSKA are anxious for Krasic to stay and will look to offer him fresh terms before the transfer window opens in January - if not it seems the Serb flyer could spark a transfer scramble, and whether United or Pompey will be amongst the bidders remains to be seen.,19528,11667_4352267,00.html

I dont know about this guy if United even have been looking at him to sign him but I remember when AC Milan were the team to beat in Europe.
In the newspapers we could read that AC Milan was looking at a Swedish player. It was like he was going to sign a contract with the Italian clubs any day. The truth was, yes AC Milan had been looking at him but he was on a list of 100 strikers they had put down on a list of players to keep an eye on. So it was not just bull but far from the actual truth. As you might figure out already there was no deal for that 'happy' Swede but a few days of media-mania.

Serb ace targets Prem move
Krasic looks to England

Serbian ace Milos Krasic has confirmed he wants to quit CSKA Moscow for the Premier League and that he knows a number of English clubs are interested in him.

Manchester United emerged as suitors over the weekend after watching him in action last week, whilst Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth are also keeping tabs on the situation.

Krasic, who is one of the most highly-rated forwards in Russia, operates from the right flank.

He is now ready to quit the Russian capital and his stance is likely to result in a scramble for his signature come January.

The interest in Krasic is not only coming from England with the likes of Hamburg, Werder Bremen, Porto and Paris St Germain all big fans of the 23-year-old flyer.

Time to move

"I think that the time has come for me to leave CSKA after several seasons which have been a fantastic success," he told Serbian newspaper Vecernje Novosti.

"The club are aware of my wish to move, although money is not a problem for them.

"Anyway I have personal ambitions and my wish is to play in England, I know that they [several English clubs] have been following me for a while.

"I am waiting until the end of the [Russian] season in November, when I hope to win a Champions League place with CSKA and after that we will have discussions.

"I know that offers will be sent next month."

Krasic denies wanting out
Serb still admits liking for England

Serbian star Milos Krasic has denied stating that he was set to leave CSKA Moscow at the end of the Russian season.

Krasic was quoted by the media in his homeland, about his future - saying he wanted to leave the Russian capital for England in January.

The 23-year-old - who was watched by Manchester United and Portsmouth playing for his country last week - has now denied conducting an interview whilst on international duty but he also admitted he would like to move to the Premier League.

"This is fable of Serbian journalists that I want to leave CSKA," he told

"I didn't say such things to Vecernje Novosti or any other media.

"My contract with CSKA expires in 2011 and all my thoughts are about this team.

"I feel that the Russian Premier League is a very good league for me and I can continue improving my game here."

English ambition

Krasic did admit that playing in England is an ambition of his, but he would only go to a big club.

"I like the English Premier League and hope to play there one day, but it will need to be a good offer from there," Krasic continued.

"I won't go to a team like Bolton or Wigan that is weaker then my current club."

Krasic admitted that he liked being linked with United.

"I've read about Manchester United's interest in me, but there were nothing concrete. But of course it's very nice for me that such a club can be interested in me," he said.

If you look too much into the rumours you may come to a conclusion such as, because of the Ronaldo situation, and Krasic being a right winger... ;)

I don't know much about Krasic, and I don't think many people in Britain will have heard of him. However, could we going for another Nemanja Vidic?

Tbh, I would be surprised if we signed him, but I wouldn't say no if we wanted to.
