United Reject Trotters' £7 million bid for Frenchman

£7million striker swoop turned down

Bolton are reported to have failed with a £7m bid for Manchester United striker Louis Saha following the departure of Nicolas Anelka.
Wanderers boss Gary Megson has the £15million raised from Anelka's sale burning a hole in his pocket and he wanted to use just under half of it on fellow Frenchman Saha.

Saha would have been the ideal replacement for Anelka but when he asked about the player's availability, Megson was told by his United counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson that he was not for sale.

The Reds are hardly well blessed for strikers as it is and Saha is firmly in Ferguson's plans as United battle on domestic and European fronts this season.

Megson has been busy strengthening his defence so far this January but he is desperate to sign a new striker and is saving the bulk of his cash to get one in.

right im no saha hater but by god 7 million for a player that dosent hardly ever play aint bad and he aint gonna get any better coz he dont play, if a big IF, weve got some1 else in line ,sell him and cut our losses on some1 we havent relied on for a good year or more .although when fit and on form you cant knock him, its just everybody i talk to about saha say the same thing IF FIT.he never is so.......get rid

My thoughts on this matter is that we should sell him, get the £7 million, then offer Ajax Amsterdam £12 million for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. In this case, we mange to save £5 million!

Unbelievable......

If my car was busted and broken......

Never took me anywhere without breaking down.....

I would grab the first offer I had for it......

Same applies to Saha

Ditto..........Why did Man Utd turn it down. If he was fit, then fair enough but he's always injured, grab the money and run.

I only think he'll be sold if its definiate that a replacement is on its way. SAF will know better than to sell a player that plays in a postion were short of without no guaranteed replacement.

when fit and i know its a big when saha is world class and noone will be available in january on his level . i think the boss will see how many he plays between now and may before deciding if he should off load in summer .

unless of course keegan comes in with an offer he cant refuse .

No point selling anyone, unless we can be certain we can sign a replacement straight away, and there is a chance even the new guy, might not settle in right away....

Think he will def be gone in the summer, theres no one around to replace him at the mo for 7million, and we might need him with a hard run in when we fighting for 3 trophies.
