REDS MEET DERBY IN SEMIS

United must beat Derby County over two legs in order to reach the Carling Cup final.

The semi-final draw pitted the Reds away from home in the first match, which will be played in the week commencing 5 January. The second leg will be played week commencing 19 January.

United have reached the semi-final stage of the League Cup 10 times before, progressing to the final on six occasions.

Nice to have the 2nd leg at home and its gonna be nice to face Levy's boys in the final and deny them the little glory they could have this season.

Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley
Derby County v United

Semi-finals are two-legged affairs.

First-leg ties will be played week commencing 5 January, second-leg ties week commencing 19 January.

Carling Cup final to be played at Wembley Stadium on 1 March 2009.

Hmm interesting. We should be looking for the draw away to derby, then beat him nicely at home in the second. Then the final vs Spurs, will be interesting to see if Fergie will stick with the likes of Rafa, Foster, Evans, Gibson, Possebon etc...

My team vs Derby

Foster

Rafael Evans O'shea Fabio

Nani Gibson Possebon Giggs

Anderson

TEveth

Excellent news. Derby were the team I wanted. We should really pee ALL over them
to be honest, even with our kids. It will mean we can rest our big players for the
important Prem games. A Spurs vs United final would be very exciting indeed.

Paul Jewell loves Old Trafford, he always gives us a few goals. Derby will be up for it obviously, a measure of their improvement, but we will win it fairly comfortably.

Its a great draw for us but I think it might be a bit closer than people are expecting . This will be like a champs league semi for Derby so I imagine they will go for it in a big way . Then again if we, or sorry Tevez, plays again like he did on Weds night then there really will be only one outcome . I think its a fair assumption we will be at wembley on March the 1st .

1st leg: Jan 6th 7.45 KO at Derby
2nd leg: Jan 20 7.45 KO Home

2 days before 1st leg we play Southampton away in FA 3
5 days after Chelski at OT

2nd leg we play Bolton 3 days before but a week before we play WBA.

I can see changes for the 1st leg, probably something like BBurn game.
