On paper this match is a foregone conclusion but I sincerely hope that the players do not treat it as such; otherwise we could come a cropper. As we saw in the Portsmouth game, negative tactics by the visiting manager can stifle a game, get our players frustrated, and chances go begging.

Every game now is so valuable we really need to be securing max points at every opportunity and this game is a serious must win. We also need, if possible, to continue to open up the goal difference over Chelski; this could be vitally important when we visit the Bridge in April.

I suspect Fergie already had one eye on the forthcoming Lille game and am worried that he may well choose this game to rest the necessary players.

Our most important game is always the next one, this one. We should not be worrying about other games until after this one.

I would like to see loads of goals going in, for us, but will settle for a 1-0 own goal to secure 3 points!

U dont win the cup by only beating the biggest clubs, it's about gaining points against the smaller clubs. This should be an easy win but as always it's going to be a though game, i'll be delighted with a 1-0 victory.

Rooney passed fit.

Charlton playing their new players; they will want to impress. Chalrton manager says "we can win"

Its going to be all down to who Fergie plays?

I listened to the game on the radio, we were really bad. But firstly Park scored with a header then Fletcher finished it off late in second half. Charlton had their chances too. We were not very good at all. But, 3 points is 3 points!! 12 games to go ..........

Ronaldo was missing with the flu and Carrick has a groin strain. Rooney will miss the Reading game with a suspension but Ronaldo will be back.

I watched the game and we weren't that bad keeping in mind that we missed Ronaldo and Carrick. We managed to secure the 3 points with the least effort possible which is not bad since we're not expected to perform 100% every game specially that today's game was aganist one of the weakest teams in the league.

Overall, I really enjoyed watching the game. The current United is really entertaining.

Can anyone tell me why certain Man Utd games aren't broadcasted live on Sky Sports? It means I have to wait till quarter past 10 to watch Football First.

Hopefully this new TV deal next season will change that. Also the bottom clubs in the Premiership get as much money as Chelsea did for winning the championship and the Premiership winners get more money than the previous winners did. I think we get something like 50 million for winning the Premier League.

Its just the way it is, they dont show live games on saturday afternoons, i think they are scared gates will drop as everyone will watch it on tv.

Well that's daft lol. They still show the big games live like Man Utd v Chelsea etc. I almost lost my voice with celebrating the goal we scored against them at home, because I love watching Chelsea lose to us. But then Drogba scored :(

I even celebrated when Jermaine Pennant's scored against Chelsea a few weeks ago, I hate it how we lost to Arsenal in the process.
