Juan Pablo Carizzo

Juan Pablo Carizzo, plays for River Plate in Argentina and I believe United have submitted a bid for $8 to $10m. I have heard United are in talks and that he is keen on joining United. Juan has been on awesome form of late.

Born 6 May 1984 in Villa Constitución is an Argentine footballer (goalkeeper), who plays for Club Atlético River Plate. He is currently the first-choice goalkeeper for the Buenos Aries club.

He has been with River Plate since he began his professional career, making his debut on the 29th of January 2006 against Tiro Federal. He kept a clean sheet in River's 5-0 win.

He made his International debut for Argentina against Chile, 18 April 2007.

Reports in the South American press have suggested a bid has been tabled by The Red Devils for the Argentina international.

Carrizo himself has added fuel to the fire by stating River would be foolish to snub a major bid from England, but Aguilar is refusing to countenance selling his number one.

"There haven't been any offers from an English club for Carrizo," Aguilar said during a business trip to London.

United have lost Ben Foster to injury and, although Tomasz Kuszczak has signed permanently from West Brom this week, Sir Alex Ferguson may be interested to note that Aguilar has left room for manoeuvre.

He added in reference to talk of an $8 million (£4 million) bid having been tabled:

might be good. we need a consistent keeper

We have Van Der Sar, Foster and Kuszczak - they are all consistent!!!http://www.manutdtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif
i dont think that we need another goalkeeper for now.we have 3 dependable goalkeepers.
Kuszak is not as good as required to be a United keeper.
VDS well aging.
Foster is currently injured.

So in short a good new young keeper would be welcome.

Kuszczak hasn't had the chance to prove himself and Van Der Sar is helping him, too critical too early. Goalkeepers generally go on until 36 - 40 years old, thats not uncommon. VDS has another 2/3 years in him. Where's the worry. Foster is injured but we have Ron Robert Zielger, young German keeper, I have heard great things about him.
I cannot see United interested in view of the fact that we now have 3 fully signed up keepers.
Never seen him, but he seems to be getting a really good review there, wouldn't say no to him to be honest.
No, we have the next England goalie in Foster, VdS for another season or so and Kusczak who is good.
Yeah but VDS is leaving after the next season, and Foster will take his place then we will have only Kuzzie as back-up and to be honest, Kuzzie, apart from being an excellent shot-stopper is not so good at the other departments of goalkeeping. So what I am trying to say is-its not a priority but depending on the price we could land him.
If we sign another goalkeeper i think that would be two match. A team with four goalkeepers. The current ones are enough
With VDS saying it is his las season then we need to move for him now and beat Man City!
With Jerzy Dudek signing for Real Madrid, I wouldn't mind Iker Casillas in goal for Manchester United. I just hope Dudek threatens his place as goalkeeper and then Manchester United put in a bid for him.

As a goalkeeper myself, I have been fond of him for years now since he came up through the ranks at Madrid.

Casillas is quality, you're right there, but there is no way in hell Dudek will challenge him. He just got signed to be a no.2 if he's lucky.
