Ronaldinho is poised to snub Chelsea and join Manchester United.
Speculation that the Brazilian superstar would move to Stamford Bridge in the summer increased when Barcelona stalled on a new five-year deal.
But Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that, four-and-a-half years after he thought he'd landed Ronaldinho, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is poised finally to get his man.
Ronaldhino's advisers believe that the time is right for him to quit Spain and move to the Premier League.

But long-term fan Roman Abramovich's hopes of landing him could be scuppered - with sources close to the player insisting United, not Chelsea, is his preferred destination.
Ronaldinho's advisers believe that under FIFA legislation the player will be able to buy himself out of his Barca contract next summer for as little as £15million.
His form this season has seen him dropped for Barca's last two games after being hauled off eight times in 11 starts.
But Fergie (right) is convinced Ronaldinho can recapture the form which established him as one of the world's top stars - and would love him to do it at Old Trafford.
Despite his recent problems, Ronaldinho would still command an annual salary of around £7m, but the deal would still make commercial sense for United.
Nike, who are United and Barca's kit sponsors, will also be keen to keep the player at one of their clubs.
Ronaldinho's relationship with Frank Rijkaard appears to be disintegrating and Barca's coach has reportedly told the board it would be in the club's best interests to sell the player.
Barca president Joan Laporta is under pressure to resolve the situation and could sanction a January transfer window deal if he decides there is a danger they Ronaldinho could buy himself out of the club in the summer.
In 2003 Ferguson targeted Ronaldinho as the man to replace Real Madrid-bound David Beckham.
He thought a deal had been struck and later blamed Peter Kenyon, the Chelsea-bound chief executive, for failing to clinch the transfer.
