Me and two of my friends (scousers) were trying to decide between us, which 11 players would make a team split between both sides. There absolute biased nature was a joke to say the least. Overlooking players like Rio,Evra etc.

They claimed that Evra has totally lost form, while Aurelio at the moment is the best left back around... Also, Rio is having a shit season and Skrtel will DEFINITELY better than Vidic when he's 26 or 27.

Anyways, I just wanted to know what sort of team ye would choose.

I think either anderson or mascherano should be in the team. In all the above opinions have no a holding midfielder. But they are good teams.

I know Rooney and Carragher are playing out of position..
But our RB spot has being changed so many times this season it's hard to pick 1 and Gerrard and Torres have being brillant together up front (hence Rooney playing LM)..

Reina in goal, he's class. Rafael and Evra to bomb down the flanks and overlap when Gerrard and Ronaldo come inside. Had to be Rio and Vidic in defense. Mascherano to sweep up for the midfield. Giggs in the middle like the playmaker, while Gerrard and Ronaldo attack from the flanks. Rooney to be in free role but also him, Gerrard and Giggs can all interchange positions. Torres to lead the line.

Ronaldo is a forward though. Sure, he's a wide player, but I don't recognise him as a midfielder. I had one winger in Gerrard, and couldn't find any others, therefore put him on the left and brought Fletcher over to the right.

No, I'm not mad. Rooney and Torres upfront doesn't really excite me. Ronaldo and Torres, however = win.

Besides, that's how the team looks on paper. In reality Ronaldo would drift wide and Gerrard would cut in.

Great post as usual. Id only make a few changes. VDS>Reina imo.
Rafael is still too young. Id throw Carragher in at RB cos he's a proper defender.
Id have Hargreaves instead of Mascherano and Im still undecided between Scholes, Carrick, Alonso and Giggs for the other CM spot

VDS - May have his odd flap, but I think he's a better keeper then Reina TBH
Carragher - Solid, solid, solid. Neville at his prime and Jamie at his prime has only one winner IMO
Ferdinand - Puzzle piece number 1
Vidic - Puzzle piece number 2
Evra - Against Arbeloa Evra wins hands, feet, everything down...
Gerrard - Decided to play him on the right, always capable of producing something special
Alonso - When he is on form, the team ticks. Very good player to have
Carrick - Like Alonso, when he's good, he's very good. Wonderful passer of the ball too
Ronaldo - Could hardly leave him out now could I?
Rooney - Playing off the front man, being fed by Alonso and Carrick with some with thepace and awareness of Torres ahead is a lethal combination IMO
Torres - Give him the ball, make the right runs, and hope he's on a good day, he's brilliant


Special shouts to Giggsy and Scholes...Scholes could easily go in ahead of Carrick... too hard to call.
