Both play DM and both have been linked to United, Veloso for quite soem time now and DIarra more recently, especially since the Real-Ronny saga began ... personally I would much prefer Diarra. Any ideas?

yea not really in need of a midfield player.

The midfield will be rotated at times next season im sure as it is anyways and fergie will have everyone on there toes! One more and there could be some disgruntled employees!

Like Jazz said we don't need any more CM's as we already have 5 top midfielders plus Rodrigo in the reserves.

But if i had to choose between the two i'd pick Veloso. Even though I rate Diarra higher at the moment Veloso is younger, more versatile, plus the fact that its another reason for Ronaldo to stay, Nani, Anderson, plus a guy in the reserves who he is mates with, plus the portugeze(sp?) cm wo plays for Everton who he hangs around with, plus 2 new potentail mates with the Brazil twins.

ditto to all that, but if we were in the market for just one more midfileder, i'd take Diarra over veloso everytime, he just has more of what we need, he's more of an athlete taller and he's proved he's one of the best deffensive mids in europe :)

Neither although for the record Diarra is probably a better defensive mid but he holds onto the ball too long. He's extremely defensive.

Diarra is probably more suited to Italy. Veloso is more versatile being able to play as a center back as well.

However once again I'd say neither because we're well stocked. I think Arsenal are inquiring about Veloso anyway.

It would solve both their problems needing a center back and a defensive mid. Come on sing it with me, they should've kept Diarra... :D

Imo i think veloso is better even tho i havent seen him much. i watched Real Marid all last season and i was surprised that diarra kept his place in the first team. He held onto the ball far 2 long and in many games he distruibuted the ball poorly.

Whats the point?

Scholes - Creativity
Carrick - Ball Distribution and Positioning
Hargreaves - Defensive solidity and can create
Anderson - Box to box (although he is not there yet but i think he will get there)
Fletcher - Adequate back up (can do a job in midfield)
Giggs and O'shea can play in there plus a couple of lads in the reserve dying to get a chance

No point discussing this frankly speaking

We do not need any central midfielders. If anything, I wouldn't mind Fletcher departing and us purchasing David Bentley.

But a midfielder is not a priority, because we are blessed and well-stocked in that department.

Nani - Scholes - Carrick - Ronaldo

Park - Anderson - Hargreaves - Fletcher

Gggs - O'Shea (if need be)

Left back is a position that concerns me much more, but it would be a good opportunity for one of the younger players to step up if Silvestre left.

Truth be told, we do not REQUIRE any new signing. I know that a lot of fans have been screaming for a striker, but to be honest there is no burning need for one.

However, I think it is not the time for Man Utd to rest on its laurels and experiment with unproven strikers like Manucho, Campbell or Wellbeck. Now is the time to build on our success and give Madrid a run for their money.

With AC Milan out of contention, next season is a great opportunity to win back-to-back titles.

The only lack of quality I can perceive is actually upfront and in the goalkeeping department.

If Foster does not turn out the way we hope and VDS plays like he did the last few months, we are going to be in a weak position.

I think if Diarra came our way we would all be very happy because he's class.

But No i agree theres no need for another middie with the one's we have at the moment Diarra is just like Hargreaves except Hargo is more versatile and already adapted to the Prem.
