Nemanja Vidic has urged Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson to move for his Serbia teammate Branislav Ivanovic.

Lokomotiv Moscow defender Ivanovic is the subject of a bid from Juventus, but Tuttosport says Vidic has recommended the 23 year-old to Ferguson, who is considering a move for the stopper.

Chelsea are also in the frame.

Ivanovic was born February 22, 1984, is a Serbian footballer, currently playing for FC Lokomotiv Moscow. His position is defender. He is unusual for his position as he makes many runs up field to help the midfield or even the attack. He is also very vesatile being able to play anywhere in defence and also being able to play midfield.

Ivanović began his career in his home town in FC SREM Sremska Mitrovica, before transferring to OFK Beograd in 2003. After three years playing in 1st Serbia and Montenegro football league, he was signed by Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006.

He took part in the 2006 U-21 Championships in Portugal, where he made four appearances and scored one goal for Serbia and Montenegro. Ivanović was given the captains band during this time and is currently still the captain of Serbia's U-21 side. He is considered by many as one of Serbia's best young players. He was named in the 'UEFA Team of the tournament' of the 2007 U-21 Championships held in the Netherlands where they became second.

He sounds good, If United and serveral clubs went in for him, I say he would choose United because of Nemanja. See what happens

2'40" - see the run he make from his own area whole length of the pitch !!!

He seems very strong too - he scare some strikers I think.

East European guys make best defenders - they dont take any monkey business !!

huh? rio is top class carly he would walk into any team in the world. people are put off by his relaxed style but trust me he's world class

Why would you want Rio out? he's a fantastic centre back. This guy looks good though wouldn't mind getting him.

I don't know its just a hang up I have with Rio.....

Since he miss this drug test 2 year ago I just dont trust him !!

Ignore me ok - I mention it from time to time but no one agree with me so its OK.

This guy is looking very, very good from what I see though....

I agree with u Carly..although he's world class.. sometimes Rio makes me shite my pants during games with his instability (like the spurs match).. I guess a solid good back would be good..

How many of the ones marked in bold do you sincerely believe will stay at United long term? Shawcross wants to stay at the current club he is on loan to. Clubs are after Pique - Rossi was sold, Pique could easily go! Simpson and Evans I reckon will stay. Cathcart too. Eckersley, Lee and Bardsley I doubt will hang around!!

how many of the bold ones would you trust to start in a game against ARSEnal,Livershite or chelski or an average plus team?
those players (if they stay at the club) are good for the long term but what about the next 2 seasons?
