With his contract still unsigned Wes Brown looks like he may well end up leaving
United this summer.

Aston Villa are the latest side supposedly keeping tabs on the player.

Newcastle and Sunderland have already shown an interest in Brown but with
both teams flirting with relegation, Villa would surely represent a more attractive
offering for Brown.

Villa fullback Olof Mellberg is off to Juventus on a Bosman free transfer in the
summer - meaning Martin O'Neill is in the market for a replacement.

After such a successful season it seems bizarre that Brown will move on in the
next few months, yet there seems to be an air of inevitability about it also.

Will Brown go - should he go?

he can go for all i care, i used to like the lad, he looks like me :) but with different hair and i admired him as a player becos he really worked. now i look at him i see a "cant be bothered" attitude. ever since he stalled signing his contract to me it just looks like he's given up. its a shame :(

80 grand a week wes ... he's having a laugh at every united fan, he should be shown the door for demanding that
it made me laugh the abuse he took on soccer saturday with alan mcinally in particular labelling him greedy and how he would get found out if he left and i can only agree, he can be superb but he's no more than a squad player

I hope he stays. he has been solid for us for many years and is
enjoying a good run in the tea. I for one would be gutted if he were
to leave. Im not sure about all these agents and money demands but
I really think we should give him his contract. Stay Wes!!!!!!!!

You can't moan about Wes not getting 80k when many other players many similar money in the team. If you're angry about that amount of money you should be angry with football, not with Wes. I hate the fact that players get so much money but if he is as good as every other defender why shouldn't he be on the same wage?

It'll be a shame if he goes, he is a trainee, had more caps than Ferdinand for us. I think most clubs would be interested in him. He should be playing for England, he is quality.

I've said this before. He is a very good back-up player, but he would never be a good starter for United. Have we ever whitnessed Ole, Nicky Butt, John O'shea, or Phil Neville complain about a contract? Wes has been in the club longer than most of our current players, but if it's about the money now then let him get on with it.

Gary Neville is in the twilight of his career, we do need a replacement, but we also have O'shea and Simpson to give cover at right back so I don't see Brown as a huge loss.

i think his contract demands were a tad over board but i dont think he would be a massive loss, its been nice having a solid back four for once but he should be just happy to be getting such a long run in the team because if it wasnt for Neville being injured he wouldnt have played 50% of the games he has done,

one thing this season has done is put him the shop window and maybe some team will come in and pay well over the odds for him, probably newcastle or some one, only for him to be exposed as they say

we shall see but long story short no great loss in the grand scheme of things imo
