He really impressed me last night, I dont know how old he is or anything, but he made a good figure. Real Madrid paid 27£ for him tho, he may be expensive, but not impossible to get. Swap him, robinho with ronaldo and 3-400 £?

3-400 million? That's a bit optimistic

Sneijder is a fantastic player though and I think
he's only about 23 or 24 so his future looks very
bright indeed. It's not like we need any more
midfielders though is it? It's the one position we're
overpacked

I think he's a very good player.

But Real would only give him to us if there was a Mr. Ronaldo going the other way.

Doubt Fergie will opt for him either, because we've got Anderson as young attacking midfielder.

Of this threads topic, but I thought that the bloke in midfield for the Dutch was
awesome. Engeland or something like that. He was promising along with the lad
that came on late, Alleyfay or something like that!

The only player I really want from Real is Ramos. 60mil plus Sergio Ramos in exchange for Ronaldo I would accept in a second.

not to go off topic, but i think it is engelaar who plays for twente enschede who i thought was very impressive in holding mid that keano is talking about, and that little guy, afellay that came on late did have a nice burst and his shot looked to have beaten buffon if it were a little lower

back on topic, sneijder might be an interesting option, but i prefer anderson, scholes, and hargo over him though

First of all I want to say that if you didn't know Sneijder was a great player before the start of this tournament then your knowledge of football must be quite limited. It is not possible for us to sign Sneijder, he is a key player for Madrid so they would have no intention of selling him. And I highly doubt that Sneijder would want to leave Spain to come and live in England for obvious reasons.

I don't really think we need any more midfielders at this time. Although, he could be a long-term replacement for Paul Scholes, as Anderson is a more defensive and calm player than we had anticipated. If the possibility of a swap-deal comes up, he'd be my first choice from Madrid's squad.

Banarama: Nah, I`ve never seen him play, my football knowledge isnt limited, Ive been a football nerd for 15 years:)...keep your juvenile responds to yourself....

abojodeh: it seems like ronaldo is going to leave, so why not look around for some options.
even tho he may not be the right guy, but in a swap deal including robinho, and 20-30 mill pounds sounds nice, cause im gettin pretty tired of ronaldo not sayin ####, obviously his heart is at real, let him go then....

we don't heed him!

if were going to give up ronaldo to any real madrid player, i woukl like to see sergio ramos and robinho! plus 30 mil!

sergio ramos will be a great right back in our team, robinho on the otherhand will be a good winger and can play as second striker... and we buy a young center back and one center forward... maybe david wheater and dimitar berbatov...

and we have a good line even without ronaldo... if ronaldo leaves!

i dont think anderson is the player u described him to be. he just needs to be given the freedom to express himself b4 we really get to see how a talented attacking player he really is. he dont get labelled 'the next ronaldinho' for nth.
as for sneijder, we dont really need him as we are "fully packed" in midfield and i wouldnt want to see any of our promising guys leave. he's a great player who can still progress though. he will probably be one of the world's best midfielder in a few years time.

Yeah, Anderson hasn't really had the freedom thus far. But, he's just a different player from the one I was expecting, I thought he would be all tricks and showboating etc. But I like the role he plays, a play-maker, but a versataile one who can remain but also quite agressive. So that leaves the gap for an attacking midfielder to come in and take Scholes' place, eventually. Sneijder isn't really in Scholes' mold, but if a swap deal arises I'd choose him. Anderson and Sneijder midfield together isn't bad!

not required by united , we need a forward and right back as previous threads have indicated
He plays well as a winger, which is where we need 1 more player (even if ronnie stays)

Chris eagles isnt good enough, giggsy is too old, which leaves 3 wingers in park, nani and ronnie

No doubt he is a class player. I'm a massive fan of his. And hes on great form in the Euros (hopefully he'll keep up that form, because my dad put a bet on Holland to win the Euros for me at 12/1! ;))

But we don't need him. We're packed already in midfield, and one more would just take it a bit too far (I know someone said he plays well as a winger, but he plays better in the centre imo)

And although someone said that we need great substitutions, but is a player of his quality really going to come sit on the bench (or are we gonna relegate Scholes or Anderson to the bench, which would be wrong imo?)

IN RESPONSE TO THE ANDERSON COMMENTS: He's a top player, but no way is he defensive. Hes a great all round player and in 4-5 years time hes gonna be the best midfielder in the World imo. All he needs to add to his game is goals.

United To Swoop For Sneijder?

Manchester United are planning an audacious bid for Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder as they seek revenge over the Spanish side in the transfer market.

United are reportedly furious with Real over their continued interest Cristiano Ronaldo and have even reported the Spanish club to Fifa over what they perceive to be an over-aggressive pursuit of their player.

It has now emerged that should Ronaldo decide he does want to swap Old Trafford for the Bernabeu, United will bid for Sneijder or more likely, ask him to be included as part of the deal that takes Ronaldo to Madrid.

Although United are desperate to keep hold of Ronaldo they may be forced to let him leave the club if Real offer a world record bid of €70 million and should the player reveal his desire to move to Madrid.

The Dutch midfielder is currently hot property after scoring two sumptuous goals already in Euro 2008 which have helped to propel his country into the knockout stages of the tournament.

Sneijder signed for Real from Ajax last summer for €27 million making him the second most expensive Dutch player in history. He went on to enjoy a successful first season in Spain, scoring on his debut and helping Real to retain their La Liga title.

Whilst there is no indication that Sneijder wants to leave the Bernabeu, should Ronaldo arrive he may find his place in the starting line up under threat, and he would certainly interest Sir Alex Ferguson as a potential replacement for Ronaldo at Manchester United.
