What has gone wrong with Evra?

Patrice has been absolutely awful in the last 4 games, seemingly since being utterly mugged by Lennon in the first half at Wembley. Is his confidence shot, is he carrying an injury, is he in need of a rest? Or all 3??

Again he was at fault MIA on Saturday, what is going wrong? The season has been built on solid defending, nicking a fair few 1-nils along the way, not now though, and at the business end of the season, it is entirely the wrong time to start shooting ourselves in the foot. From a goal difference of 11 in front, to 2 behind in only 2 games - ouch.

Mind you, that said, it does seem to be when Ronaldo is playing on the left winfg, perhaps Evra isnt getting the cover he needs.

Looked very much on Saturday like Ronaldo fancied an early bath as well, seemed to be trying his hardest to get sent off!!

And here we go again ..

Just as human as everyone is, prone to a day off.

Let`s stop blaming players, i think its easier to say that the whole team was to blame as we are a team and should play like one, not as we did this week. Individual mistakes happens to everyone, but when its the whole team that is off .. That`s another thing.
There is no need for a thread on each player, and pointing out what he did wrong.

We`ll see our real team putting it all together soon  & then i`ll be the one enjoying making threads about every single player and telling everyone how it was nothing to be concerned about :D
Drop in form, simple as. Majority of the team are in a bit of a slump. We will bounce back after the international break revived and ready for the run in:first:
Fabio Da Silva has been amazing for the reserves recently and i think he deserves a go for the first team. He can replace evra at left back for a game or two in order to give evra a rest especially after the international games, and keeping in mind we have aston villa on sunday and porto on tuesday, barely time for rest. If not he can play as a left wing instead of Park (although he has been good), but i think Da Silva will be up for it and in my opinion the possibilities of Da SIlva scoring is more than Park. Da Silva is a goal scorer.
Replace P.Nev when he drops form, replace heinze when he drops form, replace Evra when he drops form... All three really good players... I think we should stick with Evra, he is well good and quite buff (according to Ronnie) hehe
a player cannot performed a class displayed in every match he played....just like roxii say no one is perfect...everybody make mistake...take that note...
He's going through a bad period of form atm. Every player has them.

There's now an international break so hopefully he can clear his head while away and hopefully come back refreshed.
utd are still in the boss seat in regards of winning the title and i won't bet against us thats for certain but i think a lot of fans got carried away with that winning run that took us clear of the field . when in honesty utd have been very average this season and are certainly lacking the killer instinct that we need to cement the title , the defence has got us to the top of the pile we now desperatly need our forwards to get us over the line .
this team is in a tremendous position for more trophies but they definatly lack a bit of toughness physically and mentally if they want to become a great team .
evra has wobbled since lennon give him the run around but he will soon be back on top of his game but lennon is beginning to look a class act in the making ,perhaps we can swap him for berbatov:D
I think he's just really low on confidence at the moment, and once that comes back he will perform as well as ever.
Evra usually struggles against Lennon, so the Spurs game didn't surprise me.

I'm not sure why he's being singled out, because I don't think he's been performing any worse than the rest. Maybe it's because he's not been his usual brilliant self, but the entire team has been below par.

I've got no qualms with Patrice. He's been magnificent for us all season and he's not to blame that the team can't seem to put the ball in the net.

exactly.
Even the best (Ronaldo) have shockers now and again.
Evra is THE best left back in the world and he is entitled to have a stinker now and again, sure even Vidic had one against the Pool.
He was also ripped apart by a resurgent Aaron Lennon in one of those games. Lennon would have pissed all over anyone that particular day.

Exactly Jazz! I think people sometimes forget that footballers are just people like any of us, they are not machines programmed to perform every single time. All players go through bad form and spells of low confidence. Evra is a strong person and I firmly believe once he puts in another good performance he won't have another bad one all season. In fairness, if my memory serves me correctly, this is his first 'bad' spell since the 06/07 season. I'd like to see if anyone else in the squad could rival that sort of consistency.
I have said it on another thread , evra is in the comfort zone with nobody putting pressure on him for his starting place , bring in fabio to keep him on his toes he might rediscover his form, you cannot beat a good kick up the backside no matter who you are
Oh noes, let's sack Fergie! Sell the team! Kill Evra, Vidic, Ronaldo!!!

Calm the **** down!

nobodys going that far just pointing out the fact that evras form has dipped just lately , it happens from time to time with most players , its an observation rather than harsh criticism , no doubt he will be back to his best soon.
It is a good time for someone to come in and give him a rest for a couple of matches
evras season has been messed up since that ban, he got an extended ban and then came back after xmas, got injured again, when looking fresh etc, its been very stop start the second half of the season. Its ruined his 'flow' sort of if anything imo, but i have more confidence in evra than most that he will be back to his best soon enough. He just seems a determined fella, like he is mentally prepared for anything in terms of challenges!

pz!
Its his defending and being caught out of position which is the most worrying thing , ronaldo does not back him up enough when he goes forward and leaves him exposed
