Van Der Sar is not exactly running himself into the ground, all he has to do is stand in the goal, in many matches he doesn't make a single save because the defense is so strong. In Euro 2008 he was the best goalkeeper at the tournament in my opinion.
Okay I agree. But even if he doesn't sustain a single injury, there's still the Carling Cup, Super Cup, Club World Cup, Community Shield, smaller league games etc. that always seem to require a second keeper. Not to mention the quality of training Foster would receive at Carrington.

sorry don't agree about nani

as i say i think at some point he will be one of the best in his position there is

but now he's a player that looks good on the highlights, but throughout a game he can have quite a detrimental effect on the team
Against Arsenal and Middlesbrough he was phenomenal. The fact that his performances are generally good is supported by the slating he receives occasionally for playing badly.

He needs to learn. He can't learn unless he's on the field. Rotating with Giggs and Park is perfect for him. He watches others play in his position and learns and gets his chance to set the pitch alight.

Ronaldo took time to get to the stage he's at now, and during that time he was still very good for United. Just give Nani some time. He's probably better than Ronaldo was in Ronaldo's first season.

Barcelona and Chelsea like to use ready-made players. Look how they fail to communicate on the field and how little they've won recently.

That's not my point, and yes he was out of this world in those 2 games which really does give me massive hope

and i didnt say he wont became excelent over time or that he shouldnt play

He just needs to round off his game without being thrown in at the deepend completely, because 8 times out of 10 he gets the ball he gives it away

And in my first choice 11 i put Ronaldinho ahead of him, doesnt mean i said it should be the same 11 every match

I completely agree with almost everything you're saying! I just don't think hes quite enough to be first choice just yet as with the level of competition there is now in england and europe you need world class players in every position

Ronaldinho playing on the left would stunt Nani's development and cause problems with Giggs and Park. It's not really an option.

On the right wing Ronaldinho could be a possibility, but no way on the left. Ronaldinho won't move to United if the most we can offer him is half his time on the bench. He'd be better off moving to Citeh and playing every game there.

A present all-star starting 11 that isn't a sure thing isn't worth the expense of throwing tomorrows all-star starting 11 that is a sure thing out the window.

I see Giggs's main role now to be coming off the bench to keep possesion when we're already in the lead. Nani will get games in rotation, which obviously is vital for his growth but i also think Ronaldinho's presence would be good for him. And as for park i think he would have to be the one that goes, i respect his work ethic and always like a man that gives everything he has in the tank for man united, but really he's a player that even more so than nani will just give the ball away. May i add however his performance against barcelona in the semi final second leg this year was phemoinal and that of a true soldier for the team.

I think it is wrong plan, because when man utd play in this plan man utd can not control the middle, trust scholes and anderson control the middle they have weak body contrary Harry and carrick.

i like dean ashton and he is dream signing :)
so since this thread is about prefered line up for the next season
dean ashton is my prefered sigining and i would like to see him in our team
*reason why he is the bench is the rotation policy that would work with deano carlito wayne and manucho ;) *
so its my dream team :D
The line up we had vs Chelsea is my faviorite.
-----------------------Van der Sar--------------------
Neville (or Sergio Ramos)---Rio----Vidic-------Evra
----------------------Carrick--------------Anderson--------------

Ronaldo----------------------------------------------------------Nani
-------------------------------Rooney-------------------------
--------------------------------Tevez (Berbatov/Huntelaar)

Ramos would start, Huntelaar would too, Berba, I'd have on the bench for Tevez.
Vds
Brown Vidic Rio Evra

Ronaldo/park Scholes Anderson Nani/giggs

Rooney Tevez/berbatov
Depends on the upcoming game, injuries, suspensions, resting players etc....
Tactics play a part as well obviously. If we want to stack the midfield we have
the extra players to do this......

Right here right now Id go with this:

VDS
Brown/Rio/Vidic/Evra
Hargo/Scholes/Carrick/Ronnie
Rooney/Tevez

I feel both Hargo and Carrick are worthy of starts, especially ahead of
Nani and Anderson. Hargo would play the big games I hope, offering extra
defensive cover as well as bombing forward.

Another team would be to have Nani/Giggs in and drop Carrick, Hargo or Scholes.
but as I said it depends on the circumstances of the games. Keeping EVERY
player fresh is what we need to do.
And hopefully Berba will be in there along side Rooney.
