The Reds carved out a club best ever Premiership defensive record last season as they stormed to the title. And with Gary Neville, John O'Shea and Mikael Silvestre pushing last season's regulars Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra, getting a foothold in the rearguard is no mean feat.
Are you sure that bits not meant to be in with Johnny Evans instead of Manucho?

I hope we see lots of Welbeck next season.

Time to take the Carling Cup seriously and give the fringe players a chance.

Treat it the seame way Arsenal did last season, play the second string if you like.

Welbeck will be a United star in the near future!

Didn't we make like l'arse last year and got beat at home by Conventry?

I watched Frazier Campbell a number of times with Hull - I think he has the potential to be great. He will need playing time tho...

We always give the fringe players a chance...and play a second string like
Aresnal. Thing is, maybe our kids weren't good enough last season.
It just didnt happen for em on the night. Its not through lack of trying,
but merely just one of those things.
Still cant see Wellbeck getting a lot of chances. Would love to see him but
it wil be minimal unless all our strikers get crocked.

great thread
i went for welbeck cause hes perhaps got the best chance of breaking through imo although after looking at possibon i wonder if carrick or hargo get injured he mite just get a place he is like carrick just faster and abit more show boaty.
but to be honest what i class situation we have we have here maybe 6 or 7 youth players pushing for first team football i really dont think theres many youth systems around the world let alone england who can boast that potental so if any of them make it im a happy boy :D

Votes speak for themseves...

Danny Welbeck and Possebon will make it IMO. The others will be there or there
abouts, but Possebon is the next Rossi to come out of the ranks and I said this
before, but Welbeck is a la Defore IMO.

I'm desperate to see them in action next season and its because of these two
above and the rest that I'm going to be taking an even deeper insight to the
youth systems and reserve set up at OT.

I'd be shocked if neither of them broke through TBH

Like I commented on the blog.

Danny Simpson is currently the one young player, who can do a job in the first team right now, but I think Possebon and Wellbeck are the players, who have the most skill and ability. I'm very sure on Possebon, the guy has all the right qualities and even doesn't look too ugly - for marketing purposes. :)

If Wellbeck can bulk up a bit, he could make the grade too.
