After seeing the in's and out's so far during the break I think any of these will struggle

Reading
Wigan
Sunderland
Fulham
Derby
Man City
Birmingham

but i'd bet on these for the drop
Derby, Sunderland, Fulham

Keane's not experienced getting a hammering from Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd week in, week out

They've just spent £5million on Chopra... how will that make them survive, he had years to cut it at newcastle but never got anywhere near the grade, he scored a few in the championship and suddenly he's hot property? i don't think so.. Sunderland haven't got the players to do anything worth while, Keano may have done an outstanding job getting them back there but its a massive leap from Leeds to Liverpool

I definitely think Derby have to be hot favourites to go down. Birmingham have spent well and strengthened but will need luck. Wigan have bought poorly in my opinion, too many cast-offs from other teams, signing Titus Bramble screams "Danger" in my book. Reading are facing into that difficult second season but should be safe enough, they have plenty of quality, despite having not strengthened much. Man City are a very weak squad right now, I wouldnt be surprised to see them struggle. Boro are dependent on their new strikers, if they dont work out it could be a tough season for them. Fulham are also in the mix.

As for Sunderland, I think Keane will keep them up, a lot of the teams that struggled last year got into trouble because players were not motivated or trying hard enough, ie. Fulham/West Ham etc. I cant see that happening there. They are lacking in quality to make the push out of the bottom half but a strong first season should allow them to approach the kind of players they need more successfully in the future. Chopra has a better scoring record than Nugent at that level, he never got a chance at Newcastle and I think he could do ok there, nonetheless they are a few signings short of a finished squad.

My selection to go down: Derby, Wigan and Man City

Spot on with your assessment. Agree with everything you said. City going down depends on how well Sven spends. He should have about £50 million to spend which is a lot but who knows who he will buy or if there is any quality left to buy. Good post Decky.

Well Derby are going down for sure, but the thing is with these kind of teams you just never know because they are never consistent. I mean ok so Wigan have bought Titus Bramble well he might turn out to be great for them, and Chopra might turn out to be really good for Sunderland you never know.

I think Derby will finish bottom.

Birmingham and especially Sunderland have been spending big in the transfer market so both have a chance of staying up.

If either or both do then Wigan, Boro and Fulham could be in trouble.

No way are Reading going down. Did you see there performances last season? Nicky Shorey 30 yards vs Cech. Nicky Shorey Wins.

Derby, straight down. Fulham, straight down. Wigan straight down. No contest. Above them, Birmingham and Sunderland but they wont drop. Roy has made some good buys and Birmingham MIDO the fat egyptian.

Chiboygeorge - Ashton is class.

I think... Fulham, Birmingham and Derby. Sunderland to actually stay up  I don't want them too though..battle between them and Fulham. Josip Skoko to lead Wigan to safety.
