Cristiano Ronaldo is back after this international break and it's inevitable he'll be straight back into the starting 11, but in place of who? Obviously we can only consider the two wingers in the side, Nani and Giggs. Nani has always looked dangerous on the ball so I wouldn't like to see him being replaced because we have already seen how a moment of genius from him can change the game. However, Giggs is more consistent and has been an ever-appearing figure for as long as we can remember, he is also possibly more creative than Nani and with a target in Saha, who know what can happen.

What do you think?

Giggs should make way IMO. Nani's been better this season....Giggs is playing no where near his best atm where as Nani is looking good.

I want the midfield to look like

Ronaldo -- OH -- Scholes -- Nani

:)

I agree with Solsk here.....makes a change huh

Ronaldo would make any team in Europe - he would be the first name
on my team sheet. He can win a game on his own. Nani too - as he has shown.

Giggs I think is now entering the end of the end for me.....sad to say this
but he has numbered days now !!!

Nani struggled to make a great impression on the last game, and although he has the quality to start i think it would be better to use him late on as a fresh pair of legs if need be for this game.
Yes Giggs can't beat players for pace anymore, but the old Giggs and Ronaldo wing combo is tried and tested.

Ah today you come back to talk to us but you are very nice and no swearing - this is much nicer way to be you know :)

I know what you mean with the Giggs/Ronaldo combination but days are numbered now I think......mayube Giggs and Nani share some games.

Now we say Giggs is coming to the end I bet he hit best form for 5 years now...

This wont surprise me - this is why he has been the greatest for maybe 16 years now !!

I agree there. It all depends on a few factors though. Nani could come back wrecked after international duty. Giggsy (if he gets over his knock), who recently retired from int. football will be fresh and raring to go so I would start with the tried and tested Ronaldo and Giggs and if it isnt working during the game, stick Nani on for the last half hour to run riot.

this is what i would put out at start of game.
ron-owen-scholes-nani with nani and ron switching and evra coming up every
chance he sees? giggs in my opinion should come in later 65 min or so.gigs would be good at that time giving clean untired feeds and corners, but fergie always knows best !

IMO i'd say that ronaldo will take his natural place on the right wing...and nani will start on the left...and giggs will be a sub on the left given his age..i dun think he can give it all over 90 minutes...but will do great coming from the bench over the last 30 mins

I have 2 ideas I like... One, as stated, Alternating G/N during the 1/2 break or last 30 mins...

Or, SAF just writing FIFA and say "btw, I'm changing the rules, we're allowing 12 men on the pitch now. Tell everyone accordingly, thanks."

It would be good if Nani played the first 60 and Giggs finished the last 30 but we all know Fergie. He doesn't make many subs does he? And, when he does, it's usually in the last 5 minutes or so.

Finally, a problem like this. Lately our side has been a little stretched and its great to see competition for places again.

Maybe fergie could drop tevez and play giggs behind Saha with Nan and Ron on the wings. Tevez has'nt had much chance to really show what he can do yet which isn't his fault, but giggs could drop back and we revert to a midfield 5 if we come under pressure.

i agree with carly here.. ronaldo will take the right flank, nani being the understudy for giggs.. giigs is still important for the team based on his experience, but the age is not on his side.. heard that he's being offered a 75k per week 2 year extension of contract..

hmmmm depends on who we are playing but taking one game at a time, our next game is everton away so im gonna say that tevez and nani will be left out in this game i think our team will be

vds
brown rio vidic evra
hargreaves
carrick scholes
ronaldo giggs (no international fresh)
saha

but if fergie decides to play 442 i think the team will be

vds
brown rio vidic evra

ronaldo scholes OH giggs

saha tevez

our bench would be unreal

subs; tomaz, nani, anderson, rooney, g neville

if rooney and gaz are fit enuff for the bench but the game is a couple of weeks away yet so they both should be ready by then (fingers crossed)

Nani is still a bit hit & miss. He scored the winner against Spurs but was ineffective against Sunderland.

I think that for the big games e.g. v Chelsea then Giggs will still be first choice. Away at Everton is also an important game and, if fit, I think Giggs should start.

One thing is for sure, our bench should be looking a lot more threatening from now on!
