World Class Players at United

Okay this topic was discussed before, last season in a thread opened by jazz.

So this season, name the players in United that you think is worthy of the tag 'world class' and why.

Here is my list

Cristiano Ronaldo: Like i need to explain why

Rio Ferdinand: He has been doing consistently well in the heart of our defence. He should have been in the list of players competing for Ballon d' Or. His reading of the game is fantastic and pockets Fernando Torres for fun.

Nemanja Vidic: The only defender in the Ballon d'Or list along with Sergio Ramos. He puts his head in places where players are afraid to put their feet in.

Patrice Evra: Best left back in the world imo. There are not many left backs out there who can challenge Patrice for a place in the world eleven.

I'm tempted to put Wayne Rooney in that list. For me, Rooney has world class ability but he is not consistent enough with his performances to be tagged as world class :(

So, fire away........

Edit: I just want to make it clear that the question is how many players in United are still world class?

Wayne Rooney

Patrice Evra

Rio Ferdinand

That Portugese Lad

Nemanja Vidic

Paul Scholes
Giggs
Scholes
Vds
Ronaldo
Rio
Vidic
Berbatov
Rooney
Evra
World class is an overused term imo.

I'd say Ferdinand and Ronaldo are World class.

Rooney shows World class form from time to time.

Scholes and Giggs in their prime were World class.
I rather have a World Class Team then a bunch of World Class Player (or over the top player).

Evra, Vidic, maybe Rio, Tevez and Ronaldo is my WCP in United.
Past the best: van der Star, Giggs and Scholes.
Irreplaceable team player: Fletcher, Park, O'Shea, Brown
The rest is just brilliant.
^What red dwarf said plus Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic.

thats exactly what i would say , i also had high hopes for hargreaves when he joined us , i thought the team would be built around him but injuries has cost him his world class claim.
Ronaldo, Evra, Vidic, Rio

Rooney needs more consistent
Rio
Evra
Ronaldo
Vidic
Rooney
Berbatov
Scholes

None of them would be out of place in a World 11.
According to Football Manager, the only players ever make it to 'world class' are Ronaldo, Ferdinand, and Rooney..
that's according to Football Manager of course.. :p

I don't think Scholes has the legs to fit in a world 11 side ;)

thats why he would sit in the middle and spray those passes about.
Obviously he would have some lad like Kaka playing in front of him doing the leg work ;)
Scholes is still God! no matter what anyone says. Wait and see how influential he will be second half of the season.

Kaka to do the leg work? lmao

An Essien or a De Rossi would have been more apt ;)

Anyway does anyone else think that Scholes is still world class?

Okay, Scholes i can somewhat agree. But Giggs and VDS? Come on........
I look it like this I think you have to be world class to make it at united every first team player is a international or has some form of international cap . I think the title should be changed to a different class and if that was the title Id go for

1. Ronaldo
2. Giggs ( giggs has been knocking around for 17 years and would still get in most prem sides)
3. Scholes (the fact is scholes is the best ever goalscoring midfielder england has ever produced )
4. Rio (what a defender who loves the big games and can produce stuff beckenbauer would be proud of)
5. Evra ( simple fact is the most skillfull player at united is our full back you may say ronny I say evra)
6. Vidic (simple as this would die playing football if it ment winning)
7. Berbatov ( putting it a simple as this can produce stuff no other player on the planet can do . Who taught this man to control a ball its like glue )

Other than that rooney was the closest but he is to inconsistant . The rest are world class still amazing but not quite like the other seven .

giggs is a legend the best left winger we have ever had look at the facts . Maybe there has been better than VDS but he has performed brilliant in his career.;)

Please refer my first post. The question is how many players in United are still world class.

BTW there's no denying that Giggs, Scholes and VDS have all been world class. But do they still have it in them to feature in the world eleven?

I agree with that but if there was a all time eleven then they would be on the short list without a doubt .;)
Anyone who says giggs, scholes and VDS are still world class is having a laugh.

But Irishmen are a humorous bunch ;)
