According to various ridiculous rumours Thierry Henry is unhappy at Barcelona.

And the reason for his unhappiness? Being substituted during Barcelona's home
defeat by Villareal at the weekend. Big deal.

Not many players enjoy being taken off - except those with injuries - but suddenly
this has been blown into a "Premier League on alert for return of Henry" type
tale.

Which set me thinking - despite the fact the story is complete rubbish, if Henry did
decide he'd had enough in Spain, would he ever consider playing for United?

Surely Arsenal would be his first choice - but consider how well they are doing
without him and you have to wonder whether they would have him back.

Look at David Beckham - if he ever decided to play in the Premier League there
would be a host of top clubs queuing for him, with United well and truly at the
back.

United still need a new striker.

We know the "rumour" story is rubbish but if Henry did come on the market could
he be the answer for United?

Then again - who could have forecast Henrik Larsson turning up at United ... ;)

Fergie would have to dunk Henry's head in the toilet a few times until he agreed to say 'L'Arsenal est sheet' but once the initiation was over I'm sure he'd be welcomed whole-heartedly :D

Henry is a World class player in the twilight of his career. I think Fergie is trying to build a young team of stars that he can leave behind as his legacy at Old Trafford so I don't think Henry would interest him tbh.

It's not just to do with him being substituted, but
more to do with him being played out of position
on the left wing all season. I wouldn't want him
anyway, he's so arrogant.

Man, i spent 10mins on a post about Henry only for firefox to crash on me.

Firstly. The chap above me has a brilliant signature picture. Nani and the Seal Dribble.. Eat your heart out Kerlon :).

Secondly, i'm not sure about Henry's suitability for Man Utd. He has got a lot of personal issues going on; his personal issues haven't come to the forefront as of yet, but have no doubt - when they do he will feel it.

Henry left his Anglais madamé, his kid and his whole life in England. The dude has Eloped and is living in Barcelona. I'm not convinced that he is all there emotionally. When his court hearing comes it will affect his mentality as well; we saw with 'that' Brazilian(or was he mexican?) striker that Big Sam signed a few yrs ago. golden Boot winner of Europe 2 years in a row.

But, his performances dropped majorly and totally when his divorce battle finished. Destroyed was his football career. As the Old man on Jeremy Maguire said "if the heart ain't there, then what's up there don't matter".

I've just read an article which says that the real reason for his unhappiness is that he rarely sees his daughter now he's at Barcelona.

Shouldn't have dumped your wife when you left Arsenal then should you!!!

I can't see him ever playing for us. He Loves Arsenal too much, and he knows by joining us, he'd be branded a traitor.

He'll stay at Barcelona. They'll probably have a new manager soon anyway, probably Mourinho. So he'd probably be used better under him.

Y I said this yesterday in another thread about Henry!

if he has any sense he should move back to the premiership! he's too old to be adapting to a new style of football!

he'd be a top signing,

just cant see it happening considering 'arsenal will always be in his heart' sob...

Kinda like Beck's would never sign for any other english team other than YANITED!

Well for starters I never knew this. It must have an effect on the man.
So maybe England is the last place he would go to. I would still like to see
him back in the Prem with some average team as he is a footballing great.
As Dwarf said above, Fergie is building a young team and Henry mightn't
fit into his plans. Also the fact he is an Arsenal legend would make coming
to United a near impossibility.

On the other hand i have always been a great admirer (begrudgingly)
of Henry. Along with Shearer he is the best Striker EVER to play in the Prem.
Maybe Wenger got rid of him at the right time, because I believe he got too
comfortable at Arsenal and the desire seemed to have gone for him.

For people to say Henry is 'passed it' or 'too old' could be premature
in their thinking. The guy is only 30 and still possesses great pace,
touch, finishing and brilliance. For France he has about 100 caps and has
scored more than 40 goals for them. He still has so much to offer the world
of football in a playing capacity.

Henry to United is another issue.......I wouldnt say no and would be quite
pleased but there are probably better and more youthful alternatives than him.

Just because he played for Les Arses and has reached the age of 30, doesnt
mean he should be written off just yet. There is a lot more to come from him,
believe me...He is one of the best footballers of this generation.
Credit where credit is due....

Interesting thought, but I can't see it happening. Henry is a good player yes, but we don't want to be forking out a lot of money for a player who is the age of Henry.

He would do a good job, but if he ever did leave Barca, I'm sure his connextions with Arsenal would drive him away from United.

Great player, I certainly don't hate him, but I just couldn't see him in a United shirt
