This morning I was up on Merseyside to take some images of Docks and a submarine and, whilst I was sitting at traffic lights in Bootle, I saw coming the other way a Liverpool bus with .................................

Champions of Europe all over it with LFC pictures!!!!!!

And to massage their impressive ego even more, across the front was

Champions of Champions!!!

Are they on the same planet as the rest of us!! I couldn't grab my camera quick enough for an image before the lights changed.

This is almost exactly the same

I asked an lFC fan, friend of mine, what have they won this season to warrant buses like these floating around the city - his reply:

Reserves Division One Winners 2007-2008

hahahahahahahahaha!!!

There appears to be 2 of these buses and they are operated by Stagecoach buses between Preston & Liverpool. I asked him what had Preston done wrong? Stagecoach eh? The last time LFC won the League they rode in a stagecoach!!!

On the same subject: A cutting From the Liverpool Echo:

A BUS driver today claimed his marriage is in jeopardy if he gets behind the wheel of a newly-branded Liverpool FC double-decker. Fanatical Evertonian Alan Curran said it was bad enough Stagecoach chose him to drive the bus. But now his wife Marie, also a staunch Blue, says divorce is on the cards if he even considers revving up the engine.

The bus is the brainchild of the National Football Museum who wanted to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Liverpool’s first European final. Dubbed the Champions of Champions service the X2 travels from the city to Preston. It was launched by Stagecoach last month along with a single-decker bus with similar LFC branding that covers the city.

Alan, 54, from Bootle, said: “If driving the buses wasn’t hard enough for me, now the missus is having a go. “She’s a massive Evertonian, as are all the family.
“And she’s devastated that it looks as though I have changed my allegiances. “According to her I should refuse to drive them on my shift. But if I do that I’ll get the sack. “Everything’s got completely out of hand. They won’t even serve me in my local boozer.”

A fuming Marie said: “I’m absolutely devastated that Alan’s driving these buses as I think it’s an insult to our heritage and football beliefs. “If Alan can’t stand up for himself then I don’t want to know. We’ve nearly come to blows over this – perhaps it’s best that we should part.” Stagecoach ordered urgent talks at the Gillmoss depot, on the East Lancs Road, to try to avert the crisis. They even put together hasty designs for an Everton FC branded bus which could be driving through the city soon with Alan at the wheel.
