I know we've had this before, but I can't find it.

Pick a starting 11 and 7 subs consisting of players, who have played at Manchester United under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Formation is completely up to you.

This should eliminate the headache of including Best, Charlton and Law from other Dream Team threads. :)

I got to say that I had some trouble deciding whether to play Kanchelskis or Becks on the right, but decided on Becks.

AT centre back, I feel that Stam and Ferdinand are the best this club have seen under Ferguson with Vidic not far behind. To my mind they just seem better than Brucey and Pallister.

My Ferguson Era Dream XI

Cantona - van Nistelrooy

Giggs - - Scholes - - Keane - - Beckham

Irwin - - Stam - - Ferdinand - - Neville

Schmeichel

Subs
van der Sar
Vidic
Robson
Kanchelskis
Ronaldo
Rooney
Solskjaer

Ronaldo was edging his way into my dream team, but I now cannot bare to put him in there. As team players becks and Kanchelskis are both better than him and Becks could score very vital goals and his free kicks were on target much more often than Ronaldo.

Looking at our attacking players, I have to say that this club has been blessed with some really outstanding stars and we are very fortunate to have been able to witness such great players.

Man, that was hard. I can't believe there's no room for the likes of Pallister, Vidic, Evra, Hughes, Yorke, Cole etc.

Mission impossible.:D

The only one who would be on the starting XI without a doubt is Schmeichel.
I liked guys like the boze brothers McGrath and Whiteside so I would like them to join this team but who to drop? Another oldie I feel belong in the Fergie XI for being a loyal servant and did the hard job to bring United to the successful era is McClair. I remember in my early United years Kevin Moran was too a tough boy. I think he was playing rugby before he signed for United back in the 70's. He was also the first ever to be sent of in the FA Cup final. Thats another reason for loving him.:D

No I cant pick the team.

Andy Cole before Ruud van Nistelrooy?

WOW!

That's quite a call. Gotta say that Andy Cole & Dwight Yorke doesn't make it onto my because I love Solskjaer and Rooney more.

They formed a formidable partnership though. At time it was really wonderful to watch.

Thats some team mate especially if you can afford to drop ronaldo lol
- I can't put him in front of Becks or Kanchelskis. To tell you the truth, if I had to put in a 'pure' winger, it would be Kanchelskis

:D That man has become a legend!

BTW< you might want to edit your post cos the system doesn't post spaces.
We usually use hyphens when demonstrating tactics.

tikram, can see arguments for everyone in your team being there except hargo in place of neville at full back...couldn't see that myself

I wouldn't put Hargo there before Neville either.

Right now, I wouldn't have a problem with Fergie playing at RB, but I think when you judge a player on his entire career, than Neville has to be the best right back at the club while Fergie's been in charge.

Probably the finest RB in Europe for almost a decade. Comparable to a certain Mr Zanetti.

Wow.

This is hard.

It's so hard I'm not going to post  :p

I started to make up my team. Then I got my starting 11, then wondered if it was really the starting 11 I wanted, then couldn't sort out my bench because I would leave out too many good players.

So I'm going to sit on the fence on this one :D

^ take a stand, biatch! :)

Tomorrow you get challenged to an online game against a Pemier League all-star team and you have to field a ferguson Era Man Utd team.

Who do you play?!?!?!

Right, you've bullied me into it! :( :p

I'm not posting a subs bench, because I struggled, but I'l post a starting 11.

Its the only way I can fit in all the players I want :p

------------Schmeichel---------------

Neville---Stam---Ferdinand---Irwin

------------Keane----Scholes---------

---Solskjaer------------------Giggs---

----------Cantona----Yorke----------

I went for a controversial choice up front, with Yorke it seems. But I think he deserves a place in the team, so Van Nistelrooy misses out. Also Beckham not playing may be a bit controversial decision, but I needed to fit Ole in somewhere and I can remember in his last year for us he played against Wigan on the right wing and he was fantastic. So, I've put him on the right. ;) :p
