Manchester United have agreed an £8million deal to sign Serbian midfielder Zoran Tosic.

The 21-year-old left winger became a target for leading European clubs when he played a key role in Serbia’s run to the semi-finals of last year’s European Under 21 Championships.
Now United are ready to sign Tosic from Partizan Belgrade in January, subject to a successful work permit application next week.
The Home Office, who have appointed former England winger Chris Waddle to the panel looking at the application, demands that non-EU nationals must have played in three-quarters of their country’s matches in the last year and Tosic has appeared in only six of Serbia’s previous 14 games.
United will argue he is set to become a Serbia regular.
Dead-ball specialist Tosic will then aim to prove he can be the successor to Ryan Giggs on the left.

Manchester United tie up £9m deal for Serbs Adam Ljajic and Zoran Tosic

Sir Alex Ferguson is signing Serbians Adam Ljajic and Zoran Tosic for £9million.

They will join Manchester United in January if granted work permits.

A fee has been agreed with Partizan Belgrade and applications for the necessary clearance already submitted.

Ljajic, 17 - dubbed "the new Kaka" - has been to Old Trafford for talks and a trial.

Landing the midfielder despite interest from Real Madrid would be a coup for Ferguson, particularly as the Bernabeu sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic, is a Serbia legend.

:D at the headline...

Video evidence: Zoran Tosic & Adem Ljajic (Manchester United)

Back on the 26th of September, we published an article highlighting Partizan Belgrade's up-and-coming playmaker dubbed “little Kakaâ€, 16-year-old Adem Ljajic, while also name-dropping his fellow midfielder Zoran Tosic (pictured). Two months later, and today both players have been linked with a move to Manchester United in articles in the Daily Mail and Mirror.

Recapping on some of the observations made several months back, Ljajic is an excellent technician and can play in almost all attacking positions in the team. The youngster is unquestionably one of the best talents to have emerged from Serbia in recent years, having all the qualities required of a complete, creative right winger or central attacking midfielder.

Video evidence of Adem Ljajic in action can be seen here:

Yet Ljajic's progression at Partizan has arguably been stunted due to the numerous attacking qualities present throughout the rest of the squad. And of particular note in this regard is 21-year-old left winger Zoran Tosic, who is in the form of his life this season.

Nicknamed “Bambi†because of his slight physically build, Tosic has hit the back of the net eight times already this term, being the same amount of goals as he registered all of last campaign. Several of his goals have arrived from set-plays, Tosic becoming a specialist at dead-balls. But his game is far richer than just being able to deliver a quality free-kick, as Tosic is also capable of beating his man and whipping in clinical crosses with his sweet leg peg.

And for a final treat, this video compiles the best skills, and goals from both rising stars, who could well be on the books at Old Trafford come the new year:

Boah.....

youtube clips of Macedonians and Serbs very often feaute 90s disco trash that should have stayed in the 90s.

Both look like very promising talents.

We could really use Tosic's dead ball skils....that's if Ronaldo let's him take a free-kick every now and then

But you know how these stories go. In 2 years we've been linked to over 100 players, so let's keep it real, eh?

Sir Alex Ferguson will make a personal plea on Friday to try to persuade the Home Office to award a work permit to Zoran Tosic, the young Serbia winger. Manchester United have agreed a fee with Partizan Belgrade, believed to be in the region of £8 million, but the 21-year-old does not qualify automatically for a work permit as he is not yet a regular for the national team.

United must make a special application to the Home Office, which will be heard in Sheffield by a panel that is likely to include Chris Waddle, the former England winger. United's case is not certain to be looked on favourably but Ferguson will make the point that Tosic, who already has 12 caps for his country, is a player of outstanding potential.
